Yohana Karma
I started ballet training at the age of 7 because it was a requirement for the competitive gymnastics
I was in. I discovered my love for dance then, and in a couple of years chose dance over gymnastics. I danced with the Northwest
Ballet Company in Kalispell through high school. I then received my BFA in dance at the University of Montana, with an emphasis
on Modern and Ballet. In the last 15 years, I've taught dance, choreographed and collaborated in productions around Montana,
Wyoming, Nebraska and South Korea. I've also been a member of various performance groups such as the Omaha Modern Dance Collective,
and most recently, the Open Field Artists in Missoula. Over recent years, yoga has become an important part of my life and
this last winter, I completed a 280-hour yoga teacher training through Yoga Motion in Bozeman. These days I've really
been enjoying combining the flow of yoga and dance.
